How the free kitchen design works

A free design is the easiest way to start when you have a space but not a finished cabinet layout yet. You don’t need a floor plan or a cabinet list: just send us the wall lengths, ceiling height, and where your windows, doors, and appliances go, or a quick hand sketch with a few photos of the room. That’s enough for our team to work from.

From that, we design a cabinet layout matched to doors we actually stock, then send back an itemized quote with options at a few different price points. There’s no charge and no obligation. Because we keep the cabinets in stock here in Chicago, the price you see is for cabinets you can actually get, often in days, not the months you’d wait on a custom order.

Homeowners use it to see what their kitchen could look like before spending anything. Contractors and landlords use it to get a fast, accurate number for a bid or a rental turn. What to send us

• The length of each wall where cabinets will go
• Your ceiling height
• Where the windows, doors and radiators are, with their sizes
• Where the sink, range, refrigerator and dishwasher are now, or where you want them
• A few photos of the room taken from each corner
• The door style or color you like, if you already have one in mind

Rather have us measure?

If you would rather not measure yourself, book a free in-home measurement and we will measure the room for you. You can also bring your numbers to our showroom at 2627 N Kildare Ave and start the layout there.

What you get back

You get a cabinet layout drawn to your measurements and an itemized quote that lists every cabinet, with options at more than one price level so you can compare. If something is not the way you want it, tell us and we will update the layout and the quote.

Is the design really free?

Yes. The design, the quote and the in-home measurement are all free, and you are under no obligation to buy.

Can I change the layout after I see it?

Yes. Tell us what you want moved, added or removed and we will send you a revised layout and quote.

Do my measurements have to be perfect?

No. They are enough for us to design the kitchen and give you a real price. Before anything is ordered, the numbers get checked, either with you against your photos or by measuring the space ourselves.
